Of Stars And Madmen

Panos Zervoudakis Sounds a lot more like Greek 90s death metal than Swedish melodic death. The melodies are reminiscent of Nightfall and 90s Septic Flesh, and the sound is heavy but not overwhelming. The vocals are really great because you can actually make out the lyrics while listening, even though they are brutal. Really catchy tunes. Favorite track: Hymn To A Night's Storm.

1.
Aeas 04:40
He sailed with many to the Trojan land With spear, shield and sword at hand A walking legend amongst the Greeks Aeas, king of Salamis A leader of the Achaean fleet Hundreds fell dead, before his feet Even Hector was about to fall But was saved by the nightfall When great Achilles died Aeas rescued his corpse Took it away from the fight Away from the Trojan dogs He desired his weapons As an honoring reward But they were given to Odysseus He felt dishonored, betrayed by all Great anger filled his heart Tried to take the leaders apart But Athena clouded his mind Instead his sword sheep will find When he woke up the coming day He knew the price he had to pay He left alone, a hero ashamed Broken and stripped of his fame “Oh hear me now my sword You took so many lives And great glory brought At last you shall take mine For It’s clear I don’t belong To this unfair place And as I see what I’ve done You my friend shall end my days” And thus how the great Aeas fell Shamed by his acts of wrath To live or die a man, he tells, With honor is his only path Like the leaves on trees Generations of men are found Forever in a cycle like this Of brief tragedy are bound
2.
A tribute to the Darkness I shall pay A journey where al l once began A journey to the stars I'm on my way Where One is All and All is One To the great Pyr eternal and true Source of Logos through old and new From distant Cosmos to thunder’s call War the master and father of all Unspeakable serenity surrounds me An experience so intoxicating Pure beauty surrounds me A pleasure nearly suffocating A spirit of raw power rises Demanding what rightfully owns For ages caged and unknown Once more sits on its throne We have become one As we were, again we shall be! We have become one Cursed and blessed to be free
3.
Their final neuralgic days Reaching the explosive end Sharing a common fate To crumble within themselves A madman’s birth a star’s death In an instance a mighty force A tremendous echo spreading Across eternal darkness A prophecy is fulfilled A new era has dawned A phantom dressed in white A great devourer in black No world lives behind his eyes Time and space are bent Passing through indifference A shell of what once was Horror, beauty, sadness Alone and together as One Forever lost to the unknown Now dwellers of the void
4.
Laments be sung for the tragedy of old The wondrous Man bearing his World Like the titan who lost the war of all wars And now he holds the weight of all Words Once all were true behind all were gods From the morning dew to the crippling cold Earth was sacred the waters were alive Wind was a blessing and the fire divine It was heard upon the waters Of the Ionian sea “The great Pan is dead” The voice called for the demise Of Antiquity And its Sun to set With the rebel Jew dead on the cross Morality a new spreads across The rise of the slave the hateful priest Excellence in chains the plebian feast The change comes our star finds its place In search of reality we’ll spend our days The mind explodes the century of Lights The opening roads and the lover’s night A madman then asks about the stench of decay “The ideal God is dead” No purpose no task to keep the beast at bay Beyond Truth the age of Dread The great challenge For titan and man How long can his Jaded knees withstand The weight of infinity And all that he spawned With no promise or relief No awaiting Beyond
5.
I went away to find joy I became the man who forgot the boy And though the years I thought ‘em slow Now I fear the truth to know As I close behind me the door I grow older just a little more Cannot deny the beast within That rules the heart and drives the skin A wolf inside as it seems to be I looked at him and he laughed at me He doesn’t howl he refuses to speak In his eyes I am all to weak Though I know he does not exist He became the man and I the beast A being of passion with fiery breath And affirming steps walks the earth A primal will calls his name But he’s already lost the game Born fighting in a strange world For a purpose now distant and old All the dreams that now lie dead He tried to live and lost his head Thus he shall sleep on a bed of leaves For life crushes what death forgives
6.
A blackened sky dressed with dread To behold a sight of dark blue and red A roaring thunder a god is born In awe and wonder before the night’s storm And Man shall see what beauty means From the cosmic sea to the buzzing bees The silent might of distant stars The truths and lies that die with us A constant hammering a wall of rain A great Wrath broke its chains Night becomes day as lightning strikes In crimson, white and grey darkness ignites The air is pure honest and cold Order to chaos, a spirit of old Mud all around, the soil subsides The horizon is lost, nothing divides The trees struggle not to submit To the force of the raging wind Their branches break their leaves fall But still they stand proud and tall Alive shadows the mountain sides A primal memory as clouds collide Music and nature meet in a dance Of violence‘s harmony, a holy man’s trance Like a child I reach out my hand A farewell gift for a stranger to this land Enthralled, complete, in delight As I gaze the blazing skies
